made the mistake of reading up about Alexander the Great’s relationship with his best friend Hephaestion and learnt that he was kind of a drama queen because

  • after Hephaestion died, he spent maybe 1.5 billion dollars on his funeral which is a conservative estimate
  • spent all night weeping over the body until they dragged him away
  • extinguished a light only reserved to signify the death of the king (i.e. himself, Alexander the Great)
  • went to the oracle and petitioned to have Hephaestion granted the status of a god but was denied
  • nine months later, was still planning expensive monuments dedicated to his pal, except then he died, so what can you do
  • people say the only thing that ever defeated Alexander the Great was Hephaestion’s thighs
  • there’s so much more

“Best Friend”

History trying to tune down the gay be like “This friendship lasted throughout their lives, and was compared, by others as well as themselves, to that of Achilles and Patroclus.” without realising that’s the gayest comparison they could make.

Just guys being dudes being bros being pals

sigh i miss molly/mycroft/jim

(THIS WOULDNT ALL LOAD OHMYGOD)
Courtship/Strategic marriage thing where they’re all at the same party together and Jim and Mycroft BOTH end up going after Molly *gasp*. Being them it becomes this really intense competition and they’re getting passionate and extravagant but at some point Mycroft and Jim realize “Wow, this is kind of hot” so they try to sneak away to ~act on the hotness~ but Molly catches them because she’s a queen and Mycroft and Jim are super embarrassed and really is there any possible excuse but Molly’s just all “You are both SUPER good at this whole flirting thing and I was actually dreading having to pick between you but yeah, this is perfect, move over.”

au where Jim suffers some head trauma after the fall and wakes up thinking he really is Richard Brook and that he and Mycroft, who was sent to check in on him, are together. Mycroft sticks around to better keep tabs on him but then he starts to find traces of his former self ‘Jim’ around the place and starts to think Mycroft was either having an affair and it was something really bad which is why he’s being so secretive. He suspects it’s that DI, or even Sherlock, then finds more of Jim around and starts to get the sick feeling that Mycroft is just keeping him around as a replacement for someone else
