Mycroft and Molly of course faked Sherlock’s death together and had to have all sorts of meetings and attraction formed.
But they also both helped fake Moriarty’s death and both liked him too, only he didn’t clue them in to the other’s participation.
So they’re sort of dancing around each other because on the one hand, “Hey, I like him/her and there’s no need to worry about Sherlock’s secret getting out,” but on the other hand, “Not only did I help a criminal mastermind fake his death as well but I also have a crush on said criminal mastermind, and wow, that’s definitely relationship-destroying shit,”
Until one night they try to drown their sorrows in Mycroft’s expensive alcohol and when they’re completely wasted this second bit may, ever so slightly, completely accidentally slip out.

They laugh about it and curse Jim and decide that, “Yeah, I’ll definitely go out with you now,” but Molly also mentions that, “It’s just a shame Jim can’t come too. But he’s off hiding in Eastern Europe, isn’t he?” And Mycroft snorts and it’s all, “He’s been staying in my guest room. Currently he’s the one making this awful racket. I don’t actually have a manic cat,”

Jim finds out and shows up on their island all horny and confused about what he’s doing. And they all just stare at each other until eventually Mycroft and Molly are like, “Alright. Fine.” And oh my lord I am so deadly serious about shipping them all now.

aw that’s cute. i can definitely see jim being all ‘i’ll do everything just short of making the first move’ because provoking mycroft is like a full time hobby. im not sure what would end up pushing mycroft to cross the line though

I suddenly need to talk about this after watching the Parks & Rec episode where Leslie thinks Tom is her soulmate and I don’t mean it’d be entirely the same thing but rather the last part. Like, for some reason Jim keeps taunting Mycroft about “liking him” or their being secretly together and after a certain point Mycroft just kisses him in a, “See? I’m awful,” sort of way but Jim has the complete opposite reaction.

So can we talk about the fact that Mycroft Holmes’ house looked pristine, well-organized, and beautiful when we saw him running – and yet his kitchen is in total disarray and not well-stocked and essentially in shambles? 

It honestly looks like he’s trying to discourage himself from being in his kitchen and from eating in general.
